This music is composed by Henry Brink. Henry sings in Orthodox church choirs in America and sang in a Russian Orthodox cathedral choir in Kazakhstan for a year, and he and his wife and friends have traveled twice to Georgia to learn its chant and folk songs. He is from the Great Plains and was raised on Bluegrass and American folk.
Henry, his wife Marcella, and their son Elias live at St. Vladimir’s Seminary while Henry pursues an M.Div. and Marcy pursues a Ph.D. in Theology at Fordham University, specializing in liturgical art and space in Late Antique Syria and Palestine.
In addition to Henry and Marcella, the music recordings are sung by Susan Francino, Maria-Viktoria Kovalsky, Ingrid De Groot, Claire Murphy, Grace Hibshman, Samuel Reich, Michael Love, Nathan Sergio, Ysobel Gallo, and Deacon Sergio and Matushka Ruth Lopez. Their practicing and singing and recording the music is a generous and indispensable gift.
Others have also advised, offered comments, and improvised harmonies for this music through its various stages, especially Vera Proctor, Dominic Bulger, Zach Mandell, Peter Tabeling, John Graham, Ben Keaster, Chandler Hart, and Dima Rentel. They are due quite a lot of thanks as well.
